A Really Fun Website!! Yay! :)

Hi everyone!

This website that I found has a ton of resources that kids can click on to learn a lot about Life Science! It's full of fun facts about animals, insects, biology, the body and how it works, and ecology. It is very kid-friendly and is easy for them to navigate. Each link that kids click on brings them to another page with frequently asked questions. For example, the first link is on frogs. When a kid clicks on frogs it will bring them to a page that has many questions on what kids would want to know about frogs. There are even words in bold that kids can click on if they are not sure what they are. This is a great site for kids and teachers! Check it out!!! :)

My Science Story

I used to love going to science class when I was in elementary and middle school. I had very enthusiastic teachers who would do everything in their power to make science fun. My seventh grade teacher used to hate to lecture but he had to sometimes to give us notes we would need for future tests. However, he always knew how to get our attention if he could tell our minds were somewhere else. I'll never forget when he would jump up on a table where we were sitting and "wake" us up. He would wave his arms around and act like some crazy animal and make us all laugh. He was determined for us to always be having fun in his class even when he knew some of the note taking wasn't.

My favorite science field trip was in the eighth grade when we went to the Christa McAuliffe Center in Framingham. I had the greatest time! I remember we all worked as a team to try and control a crew that was going to Mars. It was obviously a pretend crew but it felt real and I felt like I was really at NASA working!

I also loved to go for nature walks with my science class. The teacher would stop us every minute on our way to a pond to look at algae, fish etc. and just show us different plants we would pass. It's amazing what you can observe in nature. I'm not a camping person but I love to take hikes and enjoy the outdoors. You never know what you'll see.

I can't wait to learn how to teach science to students! I hope that I can make it as enjoyable as it was for me when I was younger. I also can't wait to get some great ideas for experiments I could do with my future class. I am very excited and ready to learn more about science! :)
